Established in 1964 in Chattanooga, TN, the World's Church of the Living God was founded by the late Bishop WC Hunter and his beloved wife, Mother Peggy Hunter. While Bishop Hunter passionately preached the unadulterated word of GOD, Mother Hunter steadfastly stood as his unwavering pillar of support. Their united belief in Jesus as the world's only hope formed the bedrock of their mission. Despite their passing in 2016, less than six months apart, their legacy remains strong through sister churches across the southeastern United States. Their teachings and values persist, shaping a community of love, compassion, and faith that carries forward their enduring commitment.

Bishop Hunter-The Beginning
Pastor Lavarien Grundy Sr, the grandson of Bishop Hunter, has a unique journey that shapes the tapestry of our church's history. His upbringing between Chattanooga, TN, and the South Cobb Area stirred his early fascination with the Word of GOD, yet youthful experiences led him astray. A turning point came with the tragic loss of his younger brother in December 2005, altering the course of his life. Determined to embrace what truly matters, he answered God's calling. In 2007, he married his high school sweetheart, LaKesha Grundy, and they welcomed their sons Lavarien and Landon in subsequent years. After intensive training under his grandfather's guidance, Pastor Grundy was ordained as a minister in 2010, marking the beginning of his life long journey.
He began in Chattanooga, TN, leading the youth group YMMD (Young Men Making a Difference). Relocating to Charlotte, NC in 2012 and eventually returning to South Cobb, GA in 2014. After holding service for the first year at local hotel spaces, Pastor Grundy's path led him to our current building—a transformation facilitated by the congregation. Aside from his spiritual role, Pastor Grundy has been a businessman, leveraging his construction and trucking companies for the work of GOD. With a heart to minister to the entirety of individuals, he aspires to enrich lives on both earthly and spiritual fronts, encapsulated in his steadfast belief:
